At the Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple gives a sneak peek at watchOS 9 and iPadOS 16
At the Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple showed off watchOS 9, which has new and customizable watch faces, as well as iPadOS 16, which includes enhanced productivity and collaboration tools.
There are four new faces in watchOS 9: Lunar, which follows the lunar calendar; Playtime, which is an exclusive Apple Watch piece of art developed with artist Joi Fulton; and Astronomy, which now includes a star map and current cloud data, and Metropolitan, a classic face that changes as the digital crown is spun.
“Apple Watch helps users around the world stay connected to those they care about, be more active throughout the day, and better manage their health,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer.
“WatchOS 9 will be released later this year, taking the Apple Watch experience to the next level with scientifically confirmed insights in fitness, sleep, and heart health, as well as more creative options for consumers to personalise their Apple Watch.”
The workout app has also been updated and now provides even more detailed performance data to assist you in achieving your fitness goals.
Apple Watch will also improve sleep monitoring by detecting your various stages of sleep using the device’s accelerometer in conjunction with the heart rate sensor.
In addition, Watch OS9 will offer the experience of a new pharmaceutical that will let you keep track of drugs and supplements by creating a list and setting up schedules and reminders in the health app.
Multitasking and collaboration are easier than ever with iPadOS 16.
“With iPadOS 16, we’re pleased to expand the capabilities of our most flexible tablet,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering.
“Users can get even more done on iPad with Stage Manager, which brings multitasking on iPad to a whole new level, as well as new methods to communicate and collaborate via Messages, Safari, and the new Freeform app, as well as new pro capabilities like Reference Mode and Display Zoom.”
Stage Manager, new Mail tools, new Message features, and iCloud Shared Photo Library are just a few of the features shared by iPadOS 16 and iOS 16, and macOS Ventura.
Users may now start a collaboration with colleagues and manage the shared content across files, presentations, numbers, pages, notes, reminders, and safari, as well as other third-party apps, using new features in messaging.
If someone makes a change to a shared file, every one may see it at the top of the messages thread.
At the touch of a button, you can effortlessly get everyone involved in a FaceTime call.
iPadOS 16 will contain a new collaboration tool called cold free form, which functions as a virtual whiteboard where everyone can see and share ideas in one spot. It also has complete support for the Apple Pencil.
