Galaxy S series has taken the Samsung’s success to the highest level. S4 sales hold the new world record of 10 million in just 27 days, which is indeed the outstanding achievement. Although, Galaxy S4 have some issues like the display smearing. The model like the i9500, i9502 and the i9505 suffer from this problem. This smearing issue is same like the distortion in the LCD screen on pressing it hard. This problem turns more fatal, when scrolling over the dark background. The black background heightens the smearing issue, you can reduce its effect by making some changes in the RGB values. You can turn down its effects by overruling the default RGV values. You need to find an application which could adjust the defaults values of the screen, ‘screen adjuster ‘ is the good application for this purpose.
Steps involves in resolving the Galaxy S4 smearing issue:
- Install the application ‘screen adjuster ‘.
- Adjust the contrast level from -0 to -10.
The contrast level up to -20 is fine, it depends solely on the balance between your eyes and smearing.
- Applying the setting.
It is crucial to know a little issue related to this app. It disables the ‘Install’ button on turning it on. Therefore, always disable this app while installing the new app on the Galaxy S4. Do not forget to enable it again after the completion of the installation.
Although, it is the temporary solution, the Samsung is working on the patch to fix this issue.

Smearing solution takes a lot of gpu from s4 making games a little bit laggy
I just got this phone, what an absolute disaster.
Go to this website linked with your Samsung S4 browser with or without the newest update. This phone is garbage and I hope I can return it. What a waste of my hard earned money. Im done with Samsung as well, they definitely know about this issue but pretty much swept it under the rug, adjusted some values to deceive people with the settings values adjustment… All around shady. Not to mention most of their tv’s do the same exact thing.
Same issue on galaxy s7. Display is garbage, plastic body is garbage too.
