After Motorola, Samsung, Spice and few other regional companies, it was Apple which paved its way into the market of wearables. After much speculation, Apple finally launched iWatch with a number of versions. The very first difference lies in their launch, Apple iWatch being the latest of the two. So, it is expected to float in the news but its availability could dent its image as the devices will be available from next year onwards. Samsung’s Gear 2 is the hottest competition for the Apple iWatch.
Though, Moto 360 looks awesome in circular design but both Gear 2 and iWatch portrays a square design but with a few differences. Apple iWatch has a single knob and a button on the side whereas Gear 2 has it on the bottom of the watch. It has a 2 MP camera on the top of the watch. Apple iWatch is compatible with iphones only. Samsung watches runs on android whereas iWatch will run on iOS only. iWatch will come with a price tag of $350 while Samsung is yet to disclose the price of Gear S, apart from Gear S all other watches are cheaper than iWatch. The recently launched Gear S will feature Tizen which is still a growing ecosystem for one and all.
Gear S offers a 2 inch display with AMOLED embankment while iWatch offers a retina display. It is made up of Sapphire crystal which is extremely durable. iWatch comes with a fixed number of 6 personalized straps but Gear S comes with a variety of leather straps.
Samsung’s Gear S is the very first Smartwatch that can support voice calling on its own without the support of a phone but iWatch fails in this prospect as it cannot make voice calls.
Apple iWatch comes in with ApplePay which is a major breakthrough in the field of online payment. One of the biggest drop backs of Gear S is that it runs on Tizen which is not well equipped with applications whereas iWatch fails largely when it comes to compatibility as it will not work well with any other device apart from iPhone 5 or higher. Samsung watches are fitness oriented as most of them are whereas iWatch features a range of other services as well which includes giving rewards for obtaining a certain fitness achievement.
The battery life of iWatch is a blunder as of now; the company is working on it before the release. It needs to be charged every night whereas Gear S needs to be charged every two days which is exceptionally good.
Even the insiders are blank on this battle!
